What is a Lathe cut record?

Lathe cut records are made by 'impressing' the sound onto a plastic disc.
They are cut in real time, by a real person and made out of hard polycarbonate plastic that will last as long as a pressed record. These records should be treated like unique works of playable, musical art. It is like the difference between selling a cheap gift shop print of a painting and an original artist print of that painting. These records are made out of hard polycarbonate plastic and will last as long as a pressed record.

How do these sound?

Lathe cut records are much more quiet than pressed vinyl, so be sure to turn up the volume! The grooves aren't as deep so occasionally it takes dropping the needle more than once to get it into the groove properly. All records are Mono and play at 33 1/3 rpm. They do not degrade after repeated listens.

Will these play on any turntable?

These records do not always play well on all turntables, especially cheap turntables without a weighted tonearm. However, they have all been play tested to make sure that they track on a properly weighted record player. Lighter tonearm weight and neutral anti-skating works best. Sometimes the needle will get caught in between the grooves and sound awful. You can usually gently nudge the needle sideways into the bottom of the groove, which should fix the problem. Inexpensive players with these needles in particulars tend to have more problems than professional cartridges.
